About me

I started to practice Triathlon in the early 90s, having stopped around 1995. In 2012 I restarted to practice Triathlon, at the time my only goal was to become an ealthier person. As time went by and noticing my evolution as an athlete, I started to aim for other objectives.

In the past few years, Triathlon has been starting to stand out in Portugal, being considered the sport modality with the most growth, becoming a national reference.

In 2018 my ambition is to continue to claim my self as one of the best national Tri-athletes in my age group, to be present in the main national events and fight for podium in all triathlons. My goals in 2018 are: fight for the National Champion title in Triathlon (sprint and olympic distances), Aquathlon, Duathlon and Biatle; revalidate the Biatle World Champion Title; and to become more competitive in the Half Ironman distance

Complementing the sports athlete area, I´m a Physical Education teacher in Alcanena and youth coach in Pedrogão Triatlo.
Besides defending athletic and personal integrity, I completly discard and condemn using doping and illegal substances.

The main values that guide me as an athlete and coach, are the ambition to win, resilience capacity, humblety and loyalty.

Historic day for Torres Novas Triathlon... finally we had the chance to work out in our Almonda River, in the heart of the city!! This was a long waiting and there is still much to be done, but fortunatelly our river is in a good path to one day belonging to our hometown again, and maybe we all can enjoy this natural paradise... as my father did about 60/70 years ago (he actually drinked river water at some point, after a long and tough football match in the Almonda Parque!!).
